About Yvonne Scherz
Yvonne Scherz is a seasoned Reservoir Engineer with an accomplished and versatile portfolio. Yvonne’s impressive resume includes years working as a consultant and senior reservoir engineer for various clients in Kalimantan, Jakarta, Indonesia, and Southeast Texas. Yvonne has expertise in SEC reserves evaluation, engineering, and geologic principles and exceptional technical skills, which she uses to drive marketing strategy, manage, and nurture talent.
For those who have worked with Yvonne, she has proven herself to be a renowned expert in all aspects of engineering and geologic principles, in addition to a leader who celebrates the success of those around her. She possesses advanced knowledge of the complex field of petroleum asset development, acquisition, and divestiture. In addition to her impressive years in the field, she has authored four SPE Conference papers about fracture-driven interactions. She is a member of the Petroleum Club of Houston, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the Society of Evaluation Engineers. She was also the 2021 recipient of the Society of Petroleum Engineers Southwestern North America Region Award for Reservoir Description and Dynamics.
Yvonne received her Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. She continued her education at Tulane, where she earned her Master of Business Administration.
Yvonne began her career as a Senior Reservoir Engineering Advisor/Consultant for D Braxton & Associates in Houston, TX. In this role, she helped clients such as Total E&P USA, 2006-2008, evaluate the Deep Water Gulf of Mexico gas field to optimize net present value. For The Carnrite Group, Yvonne was the Technical Manager tasked with advancing a mature waterflood field study in Cuyano Basin, Argentina, to the visualization stage and upgrade data and cost estimates at the client’s request.
Yvonne Scherz worked as the Senior Reservoir Engineer for CO2 Development Group, Permian Basin, while employed with Kinder Morgan CO2 Co., LP. As the Senior Staff Reservoir Engineer, Unconventional Resources Asset Team for EP Energy in Houston, Yvonne optimized oil production after thoroughly analyzing production, recovery, and infill potential. In many of her roles, Yvonne’s technical evaluation of coalbed methane assets in the Black Warrior Basin resulted in a company-wide strategy shift, reassignment of capital expenditure (CAPEX), and recommendation of eventual divestiture.
Throughout her career, Yvonne has performed technical, economic, and risk analysis in CO2 flood development in the Permian NW Shelf, resulting in 20% capital expenditure savings and 1 million barrels of additional oil in reserves. Her Fracture Driven Interaction work has resulted in risking revisions of well locations to preserve infill well estimated ultimate recovery (EUR).
